by Mud Hands A zero concrete roof made of hollow clay blocks. The vaulted roof gives you extra volume and keeps the space thermally comfortable. The high roof can also accomodate a part mezzanine space. Vaulted roofs can be of various types- Semi circular vaults, segmental vaults, catenary vaults, etc. We have designed and built a semi circular vaulted roof with a plywood formwork. Mud centering was used to achieve a smooth curved surface. Hollow clay blocks were arranged to form a vaulted roof. A concrete ring beam transfers the load of the roof to the walls below.
